Donate unwanted stock to avoid landfill, storage costs and change childrens's lives
Exact Logistics has been working with the charity The Children’s Society for 15 years, delivering to their high street shops through the Pall-Ex network and collecting donations.
The Children’s Society is keen to hear from any businesses who may be holding excess, out of season or returned stock.
Paul Tate, Interim Director of Retail and Trading takes up the story.
It’s fair to say that things are not getting any better for children. Hundreds of thousands of children are dealing with mental health challenges and 10% are struggling with low well being. More than a quarter of young people in the UK are living in poverty and an estimated 500,000 children suffer abuse each year in England and Wales alone. Tens of thousands of others are exploited by criminals.
That’s a pretty grim set of statistics, but we’re not taking it lying down. Our charity shops and e-commerce operation are tasked with generating the vitally needed funds to change children’s lives, so we’d really like to hear from businesses who are in a position to donate excess, out-of-season or returned stock.
For us, volume is not an issue. In fact, the more the better. We’ve been working in partnership with Exact Logistics Limited for around 15 years now and over that time, they’ve collected hundreds of loads, kindly donated by generous companies, so it’s fair to say that we’ve accepted some weird and wonderful donations & are happy to consider just about anything.
Companies donating stock often ask that we adhere to pre-conditions such as de-labelling, only sell online/don’t sell online etc. We’re completely comfortable with meeting any reasonable pre-conditions and are happy to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements too.
In return, we report back to donating companies on how much we’ve raised from the sale of the donation and we’re developing a method of recording the CO2 saved by avoiding landfill too. All in all, it’s a great way to advance environmental, Social and Governance targets. What’s not to love?
