Below are a few examples of how we have helped our clients achieve the very best logistics solution for their particular needs.
Based in a rural Warwickshire town, our customer is a major supplier to the construction industry, supplying infrastructure projects such as CrossRail, HS2 and power generators.
Customer sites are situated throughout the UK, Eire and the Channel Islands.
A core value is prompt and efficient deliveries. They have been relying on Exact Logistics since 2010 to deliver on this.
The logistics manager says, “The communication from Exact is excellent. If there is a problem, they let us know in good time so that we can alert our customer. I know that they are proactive in checking progress through the day so there are no surprises.
We really like MyNexus. It’s easy to book pallets and we can actually see where the delivery vehicle is. Our sales team can check for themselves and keep customers updated without having to call me.
Many of our pallets are large and heavy, often over 3m long, yet Exact cope without problem.
Our customers often leave ordering until the last minute so reliability is crucial so as not to delay work on site.”
Final mile distribution in the UK is managed by a multinational 4PL. The challenge for Janssen was to find a partner who could manage the inbound delivery to the 4PL and meet the demanding standards of their client.
The project involves collecting the client’s goods from the Netherlands warehouse of Janssen, making bookings with the 4PL and arranging local transport to fulfil the booked in times.
Exact Logistics arranges collection from Netherlands. Whilst the goods are in transit Exact makes the book-in arrangements using their LieferEx system with the 4PL thus saving time when the goods arrive in UK.
Using Exact’s bespoke MoveSist system Janssen receives a manifest which shows the time and date of the delivery appointment, PO number and cost of delivery. As part of the process Exact identifies the most cost-effective solution for the delivery (own fleet or network)
The accuracy of the PO number is vital to ensure delivery to the 4PL and for Janssens’s accounting too. The receiver also receives a confirmation of the booked delivery time and PO number to ensure success at first attempt.
When the goods physically arrive at our warehouse in Rugby, Exact checks all freight and reports any discrepancies to Janssen.
Once the goods are delivered Exact emails a POD to Janssen so they can update their system and give visibility to their client.
Janssen began working with Exact Logistics in July 2019 and have enjoyed 100% success rate.
Ambro van Oosterhout, Director Supply Chain at Janssen, says, “The key to Exact’s success for us is their relentless attention to detail and their excellent communication with my team as well as the delivery point. I am really pleased to work with a company that shares our commitment to putting the customer at the heart of everything we do“.
Our customer Janssen Distribution Services, a Dutch international logistics company, is the supply chain partner of a market-leading vending machine supplier.
The vending machine supplier has outsourced the complete European B2B supply chain for both machines and spare parts to our customer.
Janssen won and retains the contract based on service quality, price, expertise and reliability.
There is a constant focus on process improvement and cost reduction.
